WATER CONSERVATION: A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY

Over the years water has proven to be one of human's essential resource yet we only smile when we see Gold .To prove to us its relevance, it covers 70% of the earth surface yet it still flows from the sky and can be found deep down the earth this shows how much you need it.
Anyone who thinks the fight against damages to water bodies is another man's responsibility then he's like an Italian who thought the fight against Corona virus was for the Chinese. Thus protecting water bodies is a collective responsibility.
Water is an essential to life on our planet, a need in every society, homes, factories because of its use. Such as washing, cooking, drinking etc.

In villages where there’s no tap flowing, people depend on river bodies such as streams, lakes, etc for their everyday activities like cooking, washing, cleaning and other domestic purpose.

However, there are certain activities in the community that pose threat to our water bodies. Some of the activities are caused by direct sources such as factories, refineries that directly release dangerous and harmful by-products into the nearest water sources with no intention of treating them. Some fishermen also go fishing with harmful chemicals like DDT which also poses danger to the people who depend on water bodies for survival.

Again, agriculture is also a contributing factor to water pollution due to the use. Another can be from burning fossil fuels causing air pollution like acid rain which then flows to river bodies.

Not leaving out the popular name “galamsey” mining has also over the years been the talk of town as to how its massively destroying water bodies in Ghana and the government is doing everything possible to stop miners from polluting water bodies.

Water is life! Do not pollute water bodies.
